OUR SERVICES
We offer the following services:
  • > DSA Computer Equipment Supply
We strive to offer the best equipment available at competitive prices whilst maintaining a high quality of service. Assistive Solutions offers efficient delivery and setup of equipment, office hours support and a friendly ear when needed.

We have over 10 years combined experience with DSA students and assistive equipment. Working with hundreds of students has given us a thorough understanding of our customers’ needs.

If an Assessment Centre submits a quote from another supplier to us, we are happy to provide an equivalent quote using our competitive prices.

Under our Service Level Agreement we are obliged to deliver all equipment within 10 working days of receiving permission to supply - e.g. DSA2 Letter - however we strive to do much better than this.

Our current average delivery time for the last 4 weeks is: 7 working days
  • > Assistive Technology Tuition
    "Tell me and I'll forget.
    Show me and I'll remember.
    Involve me and I'll understand"

We have developed a number of techniques to achieve effective and efficient training results. Our training is always tailored to our students' needs and course requirements.

All our trainers are certified Study Skills Tutors and we integrate some Study Skills training into the ATT where appropriate.

There can be some crossover between Study Skills and Assistive Technology Training and our trainers are skilled at incorporating study skills as part of the ATT.

Assistive Solutions trainers have detailed knowledge of all the key software found within the DSA and a good knowledge of peripheral graphics, music and film related software.
  • > Study Skills Support
We offer Specialist Non-Subject Dyslexia 1:1 Study Skills Support*. We have qualified Dyslexia Tutors and a library of resources for our Tutors and students to utilise. We always aim to:

    a) help our dyslexic students with their current study needs, and

    b) educate them on techniques that they can use themselves to make the process of learning in Higher Education (HE) easier.

All of our Tutors are trained in the use of assistive software and where appropriate we integrate the use of technology.

    * 'Study Skills Support' as a term does not allude to the work we often carry out helping students with anxiety, encouraging metacognition and generally making the sessions personal to their needs.
